I created a social media ad campaign for Nintendo celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Nintendo Entertainment System. The campaign targets a wide audience, especially nostalgic millennials, and focuses on a vintage-inspired look to stand out from Nintendo’s usual minimal style. I explored retro graphics, bold layouts, and poster-inspired visuals before refining the strongest concepts.
The final ads use flat illustrations, diagonal compositions, and a limited palette of black, red, and off-white to create a cohesive retro feel. Star elements and striped backgrounds add energy and nostalgia, while consistent typography ties everything together across all three designs. I paired the fonts Bebas Neue with Anisette Std for contrast and added subtle shadows for readability. One of the main challenges was keeping each ad visually distinct while maintaining a unified look, which I solved through consistent color, type, and layout elements.
